Montclair Kimberley Academy is proud to announce the selection of senior Elliot Furbert as a finalist in the 2014 Morehead-Cain Scholars competition, the oldest and most prestigious college scholarship in the United States, at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. He is only the second MKA student to have ever received this honor.
Many congratulations to MKA junior Isaiah Thompson who has been selected as a finalist for the prestigious YoungArts (formally known as the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts) program. Thompson is among 170 of the nation's top young artists in visual, literary and performing arts to be selected for this honor from an applicant pool of over 10,000, and is one of only six to be selected for the Jazz program.
This was a remarkable week for MKA's Parents' Association as volunteers organized and executed two back-to-back and extremely successful events at The Manor in West Orange.
